THE Meadow Springs Shopping Centre has closed for hours after an ATM blast early this morning.
Emergency crews were called to the Meadow Springs Drive complex shortly before 5am with the ATM already fully engulfed.
According to a DFES spokesperson, the fire burned itself out before fire crews from Mandurah and Rockingham arrived.
Police are on the scene this morning with the centre cordoned off.
At this stage the centre will remain closed until arson investigators head to the scene this morning.
The blast caused $200,000.
In related news, police were called to a Baldivis Shopping Centre about 5.15am with reports of suspicious activity around an ANZ ATM.
Police arrived on the scene but there was no damage to the ATM.
